JP O.

 

 

JP  attends Flagler College.  He has done 12 weeks of camp.  JP is currently the president of Best Buddies at Flagler and volunteers with Special Olympics and Surfers for Autism.  JP's favorite part of camp is down time where the Campers and Buddies have a few moments to just hang out and talk.  His favorite camp food is a tie between homemade pizza and mac and cheese!

FUN FACT: JP has a daily goal of obtaining queso.

 

 

Meet Allie!

Next up is Allie!  

 

Allie K.

 

 Allie attends the University of Florida.  Allie was a buddy for 4 years and was a Group Leader last summer.  She volunteers with UF Health, the Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute, and more with Occupational Therapists.  She has also done mission trips in the past.  Allie's favorite part of camp is the talent show because she loves seeing all the different talents our Campers' have.  Her favorite meal at camp is anything that comes with mac and cheese!

FUN FACT: Allie is conversational in sign language, and she is talented at eBay bidding/shopping!

 

 

Meet Abby!

I know it's been a while since our last post, but we have a lot of videos to post.  We have many more Group Leaders to introduce you to!  Meet Abby!

 

Abby W.

Abby is a student at Florida State University.  She has done 10 weeks of camp, including Group Leading 5 weeks last summer.  When she isn't at camp, she volunteers in the pediatric oncology and hematology unit at Shands Children's Hospital.  Abby's favorite camp activity is the dance.  She loves getting dressed up and dancing the night away.  Her favorite camp meal is mac-n-cheese.
FUN FACT: Abby went paragliding in Italy over the Alps!

Meet Nicky!

We are going to be introducing our staff to you through our blog as we lead up to camp. Our first introduction is one of our Group Leaders, Nicky. Check back as we add more staff profiles! We have 20 Group Leaders to introduce you to before summer!

Nicky H.

 

Nicky is a student at the University of Florida.  He is studying to become an Occupational Therapist.  He chose this path after his experiences at camp.  Nicky was a Buddy for seven weeks and was a Group Leader last summer for six weeks.  When he isn't at camp, he stays involved through Best Buddies and the Sidney Lanier fitness program in Gainesville.  Nicky's favorite camp activity is swimming and his favorite camp meal is spaghetti.
FUN FACT: Nicky's favorite word is "awesome" and he finds opportunities to use it every single day!
